Skippack firefighters were called to a garage fire on Mill Rd around 8 pm on Sunday evening. They arrived to find fire in a three bay garage, with an apartment on the second floor. Ladder 86 and crew made a quick knockdown of the bulk of the fire. Later arriving Skippack firefighters and crews from Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Lower Providence Fire Department, and Harleysville Community Fire Company assisted in complete extinguishment as well overhaul and checking for hot spots. Skippack Fire Company just put a tool in service that disables electric cars, and this was put in use that night as there were electric vehicles adjacent to the main fire area. Skippack crews returned to the station, cleaned hoses, refilled SCBA air bottles and returned all equipment to service around 11 pm. We would like to thank Skippack Emergency Medical Services for standing by and providing much needed drinking water to the fire crews.
