By Assistant Chief Keith Grierson
June 13, 2020

Twenty-four members of the Skippack Fire Company took part in our first hands on training since the COVID pandemic limited our ability to do so.

During the pandemic, members took part in Zoom online training sessions every Thursday night.

Thursday night we trained on structure fire scenarios at our training facility behind the station. Members worked on pulling up to a structure fire and quickly, safely and efficiently deploying into our various jobs.

Although each member is tasked with an assignment or job, these pieces vary depending on many factors. Some of these factors include, the incident or situation presenting and size up, resources, safety, strategy, tactics, limiting factors, risk, operations, construction and occupancy hazards. To that end, the crews were led by incident command and their apparatus officers to accomplish each goal with a desired outcome in focus.
