As a storm moved into Skippack, firefighters responded to four separate fire calls. The first two calls occurred simultaneously at 8:45 pm—a reported electrical fire on overhead wires and an automatic fire alarm. After resolving both incidents, crews rinsed off their trucks and began returning home.
They were soon dispatched to a building fire in Lower Salford at approximately 9:30 pm, reportedly caused by a lightning strike. Firefighters assisted with an investigation to identify the source of smoke. Around 10 minutes later, another Skippack crew was called to a separate fire alarm. Both incidents wrapped up relatively quickly. Afterward, crews repeated the process of cleaning their trucks, checking their airpacks for readiness, and returning home for the night. Including the morning structure fire in Perkiomen this was a five-call day for Skippack Fire Company!
