Skippack firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire on Heiser Rd on Tuesday afternoon. The fire spread to about 1/3 of an acre before crews arrived to extinguish it. We would like to thank Perkiomen Township Fire Company for their assistance.

Dry conditions and winds are a dangerous combination this time of year as there is plenty of dry vegetation to burn. This fire started as an illegal controlled burn that quickly spread due to today's high winds. Please be careful with any flames to prevent fires that can quickly spread to nearby homes.
