Another Quiz Question this week. Are you familiar with "What 3 Words"?

What3Words is a newer navigation and location technology. In 2025 Montgomery County Emergency Services have included the use of this tool to find those calling for assistance when they are in some of the counties many nonaddressable woodlands, trails, and waterways. It currently integrates with Apple Maps, Waze and others.

///frock.beefed.unarmed; This is a what3words address looks like and was the location provided to locate our scenario for the culminating event of our rope rescue training. The words and application took us to Lenape Disc Golf Course for a simulation of an individual who was injured and trapped by a falling tree. Making things more complicated was that the victim was somewhere on the steep embankment, which was not very 'walkable' and limited visibility. Gear was assembled, as were the teams and plans. The 'Victim' was located, tree was stabilized, and the 'victim' extricated, packaged for transport and then brought by rope system haul up to safety.
