February's training focused on rapid intervention teams (RIT). These are firefighters who stand by on a fire scene and are ready to rescue any firefighter in trouble. We first focused on FAST board basics, followed by training with the FAST board in the Skippack acquired structure. This week we practiced rescues simulating a firefighter who fell through the floor. Multiple techniques were employed for conscious and unconscious victims using a charged hose and rescue straps.
