This afternoon Skippack firefighters were dispatched to their second brush fire of the year. They supported Harleysville Community Fire Company in extinguishing multiple small fires that spread through a wooded area. Dry vegetation this time of year, even after rainy days, can result in rapid fire spread, which has extended to homes and other structures in previous years. Please be especially careful with any fires, discarded cigarettes and other sources of ignition. Skippack firefighters also stood by with Ladder 86 at Norristown Fire Department at 3:11 am this morning and were back at Skippack just before 5 am.
