Skippack firefighters were invited to train with Worcester Volunteer Fire Department at their acquired structure (a building that is slated for demolition). This commercial building gave opportunities to practice hoseline advancement, to breach walls and force doors, and to practice ventilation skills in coordination with crews on the roof. These rare opportunities to practice skills on actual structures with unfamiliar floor plans are critical to keeping our skills sharp and being ready for our next alarm. Skippack firefighters then stood by with their ladder on Saturday morning, ready to respond to calls in Worcester and Skippack, as Worcester firefighters battled a large house fire in their township.
