Fire on Ft. Bevon

May 28, 2023

Skippack firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Ft. Bevon Road just after noon on Sunday. First arriving units arrived to find one unit of a twin home with fire coming from the rear and side of the building. Crews were met with heavy smoke conditions as well as high heat on the second and third floors. Multiple hoselines were deployed to battle the fire that had started on the first floor and spread up the outside of the house. The fire was fully extinguished after about an hour. Crews continued to work to ventilate the building and look for extension in the walls and ceilings. The attached unit suffered some smoke damage and was ventilated as well. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall. SFC would like to thank our mutual aid companies-Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Lower Providence Fire Department, Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Company, Harleysville Community Fire Company, Worcester Volunteer Fire Department and EMS support from Skippack Emergency Medical Services, Plymouth Community Ambulance and Freedom Valley Medical Rescue. Skippack crews were back in service at approximately 3:30 pm. A special thank you to all of the neighbors that brought cases of water to the scene for the firefighters. It was greatly appreciated.
