On Wednesday afternoon Skippack Fire Company was dispatched to a fire at Palmer International on Lucon Road. A second alarm was quickly called due to the size of the facility, location of the fire, and the amount of work needed to be done to extinguish all of the fire and check for extension. Crews operated on scene for 4-1/2 hours. We are grateful for the assistance of our mutual aid companies including Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Lower Providence Fire Department, Harleysville Community Fire Company, Upper Providence Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Trappe Fire Company, Worcester Volunteer Fire Department, Upper Salford Fire Company, Lower Frederick Fire Company, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company of Souderton, Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company, Skippack Emergency Medical Services, and Harleysville EMS. We also appreciate North Penn Goodwill Service Canteen for providing food and rest facilities as well as Limerick Fire Department and Telford Fire Company for standing by at the Skippack Fire Station.
