Structure Fire Mutual Aid

The Skippack Fire Company was dispatched to assist Station 89, Harleysville Fire Company, Thursday afternoon at 12:25. The call for service reported a residential structure fire on Bergeys Mill Road, Lower Salford.

Chief 86 arrived on scene at 12:34 and established Command 89. Crews arrived on location with fire from the roof. Numerous additional companies were added to the call. The Tanker Task Force was dispatched as there are no fire hydrants in the immediate area. A tanker fill and dump site were quickly established for incoming units., with Captain 86 in charge of water supply.

Crews made a quick attack on the fire and stopped it from spreading throughout the entire home. Crews were on location for an extensive amount of time doing overhaul work to make sure the fire had not extended further into the structure.

In addition to the Chief and Captain, Skippack Fire Company units on scene included; Squad (with the Battalion Chief and Lieutenant), Special Service (with the Assistant Chief), Tanker and Utility 86.

All Skippack Fire Company crews cleared the scene by 15:30.
