By Assistant Chief Keith Grierson
June 11, 2020

Skippack Fire Company was dispatched for a possible crash in the area of Anita Drive and Bridge Road this morning at 02:17. Deputy 86 went on location at 02:21 and located the crash in the 700 block of Bridge Road, in the area of Landis Road.

The driver of the truck self extricated after coming to a rest off the road and into a wooded area, before the fire company arrived. The truck was heavily encased in a tree, that was struck in the crash.

Skippack Emergency Medical Services transported the driver of the truck to a local hospital for evaluation.

SFC crews worked to remove the tree from the truck and assisted the tow truck driver in getting the truck out of the wooded area.

In addition to the Deputy Chief, Chief, Squad (with the Battalion), Special Service (with the Assistant and Captain) and Utility 86 took in the call.

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. All SFC crews returned to the station at 04:22.
