The Skippack Fire Company was dispatched to assist Station 80, Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department on Sunday afternoon on a commercial structure fire box.

The original call for Station 80 came in at 14:23 reporting a heavy smoke condition inside Precision Tube Company, 287 Wissahickon Avenue. Assistant 80 requested a working fire dispatch at 14:28 as he confirmed the smoke condition in the building.

Station 86 was dispatched as the RIT company. Responding on the box were Chief, Squad (with the Assistant, Battalion and Captain) and Utility (with the lieutenant) 86.

The source of the smoke was found to be a piece of machinery that was on fire. Crews split and assisted with fire extinguishment and RIT. The fire was placed under control at 14:55. 86 crews then transitioned to assisting with an extensive ventilation process based on the smoke volume and size of the building.

86 crews returned to Skippack Township at 15:20.
