Skippack Fire crews were busy Friday with four calls for service.

Squad 86 with the Deputy Chief, responded as the RIT this morning at 08:18, for a commercial building fire in the 200 block of Wissahickon Avenue in Upper Gwyneed Township. The Squad was returned before arriving on scene as units made a quick knock of the fire.

Deputy and Squad (with the Battalion) 86 were dispatched for a two car motor vehicle accident at 09:03, at the intersection of Routes 113 & 73. Crews cleaned up debris from the roadway and assisted Skippack Emergency Medical Services on scene.

Deputy, Assistant, Battalion, Squad (with the Lieutenant) and Utility 86 were dispatched at 19:13 for an unknown type fire in the area of Palmer Park. Crews investigated and found a controlled burn in the area on Collegeville Road.

Yup ûChief, Deputy, Captain, Squad (with the Lieutenant) 86 were dispatched at 22:59 for a one vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 73 and Plank Road. Crews arrived on
scene to find a truck on its side with the driver self-extricated. There were no other occupants in the truck. Crews assisted with traffic control and debris cleanup.
