Skippack Sunday Afternoon House Fire

Skippack Fire Company was dispatched to a residential structure fire Sunday afternoon at 12:39. Crews were called to the 500 block of Bridge Road in the township when a caller reported a fire in the home on Bridge Road. Initial reports stated there was smoke everywhere, but no visible flames and that everyone was out of the home safely.

Collegeville Fire Marshal-1 in the area, reported a large three story single family dwelling with heavy smoke from the roof at 12:44. Engine 86 arrived on-scene a short while later and went to work. Chief 86 arrived on scene and established Command 86 at 12:47 with the working fire. Command reported heavy fire still on the third floor at the 20 minute mark. The fire was declared under control at 13:42.

Units assisting on scene included: Skippack Emergency Medical Services, Trappe Fire Company Ambulance, Collegeville Fire Company, Harleysville Fire Company, Jefferson Fire Company, Lower Frederick Fire Company, Lower Providence Fire Department, North Penn Volunteer Fire Company, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Trappe Fire Company, Worcester Volunteer Fire Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Skippack Fire Company units on-scene with the Chief and Engine (with the Lieutenant) included, the Deputy and Assistant Chief's, Squad (with the Captain), Tanker, Utility, Special Service 86.

There were no reported injuries on scene and fire fighters were able to remove several cats from the residence safely. All units were available by 16:22. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
