House Fire Assist

Skippack Fire Company was dispatched at 16:25 to assist Station 52 - Lower Frederick Fire Company on Wednesday for a residential structure fire on the 100 block of Bavington Road in Lower Frederick. The initial call for Station 52 reported fire coming from a bedroom at 16:16. Just five minutes later as first arriving units arrived on scene, they reported a fully involved structure fire.

Chief, Rescue (with the Deputy Chief), Engine and Utility (with the Assistant Chief) 86 took in the job. Chief 86 was made Operations Chief upon arrival, Rescue the RIT, while the Engine and Utility crews provided numerous fire ground support roles.

Command reported that the bulk of the fire was knocked down at 17:03 and overhaul began at 17:25. All Station 86 crews cleared the fire scene at 18:28.

Just as crews prepared to return to the station, Station 86 was again dispatched for wires down and on fire at 18:19 for the 3700 block of Thompson Road in Skippack. Tanker (with the Battalion Chief) 86 responded on the box while the Engine and Utility responded on the return from the structure fire. Battalion 86 released the Engine and Utility at 18:43, while the Tanker crew stood by awaiting the arrival of the PECO crew.

PECO arrived on scene to control the power and the balance of the Skippack crews returned to the station at 19:47.
