The Skippack Fire Company is a volunteer emergency service provider made up of citizens from your community. We volunteer our time and skills to assist the residents and visitors of our response area during fire, rescue and medical emergencies. We respond to your emergency, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. In 2017 we responded to 241 fire/rescue and medical related emergencies.

Fortunately for our organization, there are hundreds of people, like you, in our community who realize the expense involved in emergency services. Maintaining state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles, rescue equipment, firefighter protective equipment, a fire station and delivering programs that teach children fire prevention can be very costly.

The Skippack Fire Company is now conducting its annual fund drive and we are asking for your continued support. Your donation will help us meet expenses that are ever increasing yearly.

Our annual fund drive request is by letter only. We do not solicit any donations by telephone so please be cautious about telephone calls soliciting funds for your local fire company. In addition we do not employ a telemarketer to handle our fund drive. All efforts are handled by our volunteers!

The percentage of returns this year is 20.51%. In the past 7 years the percentage of returns has declined at about 1% per year. In 2010 we sent out 3628 and had a 898 returns, a 27.47% rate of return. Each year since we have increased the size of our list as the township (and it’s needs) have expanded, yet the number of returns has remained fairly constant. This year we mailed to 4684 property owner’s and have a return of 950 (to date) for again a 20.51%.

As a 100% volunteer organization, we are always looking for new members. There are many duties that can be performed in addition to fire and rescue responsibilities. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please go to www.skippackfire.com and click on Join SFC.
