| What do firefighters do when faced with tanker training scheduled on a hot and smokey night without their tanker truck? Skippack firefighters still get to work and practice their skills. Our tanker truck is currently away for some critical repairs, but all of the equipment is sitting in our firehouse, so we were still able to simulate a portable tank drafting operation as well as a fill site using our squad.
Skippack Fire Company is part of the Tanker Task force and can be called to support water operations in many areas of Montgomery county. Tanker water supply is essential in areas without hydrants or for large fires when the local water supply can no longer support the water needs of a fire. |
