The Skippack Fire Company has signed an agreement to purchase and build two new pieces of fire equipment from Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. late Friday evening. Ferrara authorized dealer, Kaler Fire Equipment President, Robert L. Kaler IV and his family, along with Skippack Fire Company President Keith Grierson, New Apparatus Committee Chairman Deputy Chief Mike Risell, Trustee Chairman Barry Evans and numerous other fire company members were on hand for the momentous occasion.

This agreement will bring two new state-of-the-art pieces of Ferrara fire apparatus’ to Skippack to replace older vehicles and enhance the current fleet and capabilities of the Skippack Fire Company. This agreement will bring one MVP Squad and one HD-107 Quint into the Skippack Fire Station on Bridge Road.

Delivery of both vehicles is predicted to occur in 2018, the Squad to be delivered first (estimated 2nd quarter) and the Quint second (estimated 4th quarter). Countless hours went into the New Apparatus Committee's efforts to get to this point, which enabled the fire company to prepare for the arrival of these new pieces of safety equipment to protect the lives and property of the residents of Skippack Township, as well as the surrounding townships and boroughs in Montgomery County. The Skippack Fire Company wishes to thank all of our members for their thoughts, opinions, talents, and time. We would also like to thank Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., Kaler Fire Equipment, and other manufactures and dealerships for submitting proposals for our project.

We look forward to updating you more as this process continues, stay tuned!
