Last evening, personnel reviewed the use of multiple strategies including the FAST Board to secure and prepare a downed firefighter for removal from an environment classified as Imminent Danger to Life or Health (IDLH). The primary objective is to quickly move the firefighter to safety, allowing medical teams to provide care. This procedure is carried out by a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), which is dispatched to every working structure fire within the county.
