Firefighters need to access fire hydrants quickly to protect lives and property!

Please make sure that you clear snow at least 3 feet away from fire hydrants. When hydrants are buried in snow, it makes it difficult, if not impossible for firefighters to quickly attach hoses. Businesses, homeowner associations, apartments, etc., should also instruct their private snow plowing companies to not bury hydrants with snow piles, and require them to shovel hydrants clear if they do.

Please take some time to clear the fire hydrants near your property to help protect your home, your neighbors, and your businesses. Thank you!
