By Battalion Chief Keith Grierson
February 14, 2018

Skippack Fire Company responded this morning to assist Perkiomen Township Fire Company on a working structure fire on Gravel Pike. The call to assist Station 66 came in at 01:11 for the former Caprios Apartments.

Skippack Fire Company responded with Chief 86, Engine (with the Deputy Chief) and Tanker (with the Battalion Chief). Crews assisted with finding the stubborn fire in mainly an exterior operation based on the “dangerous building” classification due to the unoccupied buildings conditions inside with missing or suspect floors. Tanker 86 supplied the Tanker 66 during the incident. Crews worked to overhaul the structure once the fire was under control, searching for hot spots.

All Station 86 crews returned to the station at approximately 03:00.
