For over 100 years this “fire alarm” rim has been part of the Skippack Fire Company. It has been missing from view at our new station since it opened in 2008. We are happy to share it is now back and on display in front of our Bridge Road fire station. The rim was originally used as a signaling tool at our station on Skippack Pike and Mensch Road, alerting firefighters in Skippack of emergencies.

A special thank you to firefighters Wilkie and Forsyth for working to facilitate the placement of the rim and giving it a fresh coat of paint. Thank you also to Hoover Steel for the frame work and Jack Strouse at Strouse Landscaping for installing the rim. In the Spring of 2018 we will focus on landscaping around the rim and place a plaque at its base.

We also secured a new Skippack Fire Company Training Ground sign replacing another piece of history that served us well for over 75 years.

Photos of both of these pieces can be seen here below.
