It is with deep regret that the Officers and Members of the Skippack Fire Company announce the passing of Life Member and Past President Albert "Al" Alderman. Al joined the Skippack Fire Company on August 9th 1971 and quickly became an active member of the fire company. Al currently ranks 14th in the fire company for total alarms answered with 2,397. He became a fire company Board of Trustees member in 1975, a position he held through 1977. He became Vice President of the fire company in 1978 through 1983 and then served as Skippack Fire Company President in 1984 through 1986. Al was also instrumental in keeping our fleet of apparatus ready for the next alarm; serving as Assistant Engineer in 1980 through 1982 and as Chief Engineer in 1991 through 2007. Al is the longest serving Chief Engineer in Skippack Fire Company history, having served for 17 years. The Skippack Fire Company remembers and is appreciative of Al's contributions and dedication to the Skippack Fire Company and our community. We wish his family peace and comfort at this difficult time. More details on services for Al will be made available as they are announced.
