Skippack Fire Company was dispatched to a lightning strike with an odor of something burning in the structure at 22:07 Thursday night. Chief and Deputy 86 arrived on scene and upgraded the box to a structure assignment at 22:12, reporting smoke in the building. The upgraded box brought crews from Worcester Fire Company and Perkiomen Township Fire Company. Crews were able to locate smoldering insulation in the attic while searing for the source of the smoke. Crews did extensive searches for any extension of the fire from the attic and found none. Skippack Assistant Chief, Engine, Tanker and Fire Police responded on the box, in addition to the Chief and Deputy. Crews operated for approximately one hour on scene.
